I have a lot of stuff going on right now. I started work back at the historical buildings doing tours of the Hahn House, Boot and Shoe, and Schoolhouse. The caves job never came through for one reason or another and I couldn't wait any longer for the season to progress. This weekend is Civil War days, I am kinda looking forward to it. I enjoy the activities and people. I can't say the same for the new tour guide... Though I am really laughing at the fact that Sundays now houses the Pokemon trading card group in the schoolhouse. Its like all my geeky interests converging. I will probably get my little chibi's to come with me and check it out before things get too busy again and the season ends. I guess we are even to be selling old-timey candy, I still have to make a sign for that. I want to make more Victorian garb so bad! Just to do tours in historical garb gives me a squee feeling, I would if I could.
My DA subscription is nearing it's end. I would love to renew it, but I just don't have the funds. I am keeping busy doing some commission work in-between but finding it hard to concentrate lately. I managed to put together several photos for CF's graduation and they turned out amazing. If my computer allows me I hope to load those at some future date. I am not holding my breath though. But now I also have pics of the grad parties... I fall further and further behind with these things don't I?
I found out today that a college friend, and I considered him a roommate with the pure amount of time he was in our dorm room, died March 1. Christine my roommate passed on about 2 years ago now and he died only a few days from that anniversary. I knew he had a hard time getting over her death, they married after college and had a lot of trials in-between due to the accident that nearly took Christine's life my freshman year at Northland. Joe drove his atv onto thin ice on the lake near his home in MI and joined Christine this March. My heart breaks thinking about both of their families. Joe was very close to his twin brother Mike. It's kinda hard to believe they are both gone. I don't have a lot of photos of us, but will probably dedicate some in memory of their spirit and undying love they held for each other. I was stunned to find out this little bit of news in my alumni newsletter, and am still reeling with a sudden sense of loss it gives me. Peace to my friends, may you find each other in the next life.
Oddly enough its storming and I am watching fireflys dance outside the window. Joe was a meteorologist, he loved storm-chasing.
